The ASME, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, is a professional society that works to advance the knowledge and understanding of the mechanical engineering field. It is known and respected by industries across the country. Sullivan and Merritt has received certification and authorization to use the symbol of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for the manufacture and assembly of power boilers.
Sullivan and Merritt is also authorized to use the repair symbol of The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors for National Board Code Repairs And/Or Alterations in accordance with the applicable rules of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. The use of the Repair symbol and the authority granted by this certificate of authorization are subject to the provisions of the agreement set forth in the application. Any repair stamped with this symbol shall have been made strictly in accordance with the provisions of the National Board Inspector Code.
The National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee members are 14 national maintenance contractors and 14 representatives from the participating International Unions of the Building and Construction Trades, AFL-CIO. The Committee is a proactive one which meets regularly to administer the NMAPC Program an provide a national forum to promote labor-management cooperative efforts in construction.

The credentials of Sullivan and Merritt safety/loss control team include development and implementation of the Labor, Education, and Development (L.E.A.D.) of Maine safety outreach program for the Maine Building Trades.
